Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational Christian organization which provides much needed aid to hurting people from all over the world. For over 45 years Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the spiritual and physical needs of people suffering from poverty, natural disasters, disease, famine, and war. Samaritan’s Purse serves the needs of others while sharing the love of God through his son Jesus Christ.
We’re longtime supporters of Samaritan’s Purse and there are multiple reasons for this. First, we share Franklin Grahams vision: “After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said ‘Go and do likewise.’ That is the mission of Samaritan’s Purse – to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.”
The second reason we support Samaritan’s Purse is accountability. Samaritan’s Purse has earned an Accountability & Transparency score of 100 and a Financial score of 98.9 from CharityNavigator.org. If you choose to support Samaritan’s Purse you can give with confidence as 88.5% of money given to Samaritans Purse is spent on the international relief programs. Only 11.5% is spent on administration costs. To learn more about Samaritan’s Purse, click here.
Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that brings together compassionate people with children suffering from poverty. They serve as advocates for the world’s impoverished children in order to free them from their spiritual, economic, and social poverty … all in Jesus’ name.
Through child sponsorship, leadership development and prenatal assistance, Compassion International has been able to help well over a million children from around the world. These children are enabled to escape hunger & poverty and develop into healthy Christian adults. As followers of Christ we have a responsibility and duty to speak up for & defend those who cannot defend themselves. In Proverbs 31:8-9 we are instructed to “Speak up for the people who have no voice, for the rights of all the down-and-outers. Speak out for justice! Stand up for the poor and destitute!”
Like Samaritan’s Purse, Compassion International scores very well with CharityNavigator.org with an Accountability & Transparency score of 100 and a Financial score of 93.4. Also, 84% of funds donated to Compassion International are spent on the international relief programs with only 16% being spent on administration costs.
